Beautifully and lovingly restored Kleinhans chair by a former Cranbrook teacher. Originally constructed by the famed architect Eliel Saarinen for the Kleinhans Opera House in Buffalo soon after he finished construction of Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Saarinen charged this design to his son, Eero Saarinen, and another promising architect/artist, Charles Eames. This would be the first joint work for these three iconic Finnish/American designers and shadows the interesting link between Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern, where the younger artists soon set the international tone. This was also the first time Eames showed off his "bent wood" structure.

All of the wood is original, but the batting and leather has been painstakingly replaced to reflect the original work.
