Antique Vtg Victorian Converted Gas Pendant Gasolier Arts & Crafts Mission Deco

  

Working well, recently wired and ready for you. This is an original gas fixture by Welsbach, now converted to electric with a new porcelain socket added. An early 1900's piece with a stamped patent date of 1908. It is also marked Welsbach Amber-Glow Light, Size No.

2 Reflex" and "Welsbach Co Liscenced Mfrs, Patented Oct 20 08. The fixture is all brass and has an antique gold painted finish with tiny areas of wear to the finish (see closeups). The frosted and clear antique glass shade has no chips or cracks - just normal roughness around the edges and bubbles and lines in the glass from the original glass-making process.

It uses one standard-base light bulb up to 60 watts (or use an LED bulb for any brightness you like). The light bulb shown is included, however it's not a brand new bulb so we can't say how much life is left in it. Ceiling mount screws not included. The late Bob Daly was a marathon runner and worked in his family's burgler alarm business until he started his own antique lighting restoration business in Fenton, Michigan in the 1980's: "Historic Lighting Restoration Services and Sales". He was restoring antique lighting for almost 40 years. This beautiful light was thoughtfully and skillfully restored by Bob to the tiniest detail. From new wiring to cleaning to touching up, buffing and polishing, Bob was a master at the details. He loved what he did and was excited to share these restored works of art with the next generation (see a newspaper article picture of him in photo #24).

He worked with loving care, and you can be proud to own one of his restorative works of art. We are certainly proud to have acquired his amazing collection, as we also restore and sell antique lighting and love to share it with all of you who want true antique pieces that have historic personality in your homes and buildings.
